At 91, Qiyou was happy as a little child most of the time while excited about any little discoveries he could encounter every day: a little rare bird, a new type of food, a new plant he found on the roadside or some trinkets he found from my visits to the local Good Will store.

Aging gave him the opportunity to pay attention to his passions rather than the forces that drove him going in the most productive part of his life, such as work, raising family, and fulfilling the expected achievement.

Aging liberates him from these responsibilities when it was an enlightening experience to appreciate all the beauties of life and he was happy to express through the art of calligraphy.
